dear friends list, a note about my naivete and fundamental belief that most people are good

I've been having some issues with Livejournal lately. I have decided to take a lot of people off my friends list, keeping only those that I really speak to on a regular basis, are friends with outside of livejournal, or have a long history of offline friendship with. I've kept everyone on who lives out of town.

Please note that this is nothing personal at all. I really enjoy reading about your lives and hope that you will let me continue to do so. I did not realise until this week that having a journal locked with a password doesn't mean guaranteed privacy or respect and I refuse to wonder or speculate about who this person is, just air on the side of caution.
